Obviously, It has to be none other than D-I-A-M-O-N-D. I never understands why they can get so crazy over it. -.- My cousin just got his girlfriend a small diamond for engagement, its actually smaller than a 0.6cm full stop and guess how much it costs? 6 thousand plus without GST. Really an absurd spending. I would rather spend this money on something which is much much more useful like on a bigger lcd tv or what, and this will make us both happy instead :/
For what I know diamond symbolize of the connection to one another. So, let me ask you: Has the diamond engagement ring become so popular because it's a symbol of value? Does a man give it to a woman to show how much he's willing to spend on her, and that somehow is a demonstration of his love?
And If everyone was wearing diamond as engagement rings, they would no longer symbolize a something special, If I'm a women and a sensible women I would not want one too because they would not mean anything anymore.
So at the end, if you wanted something that had a lot of meaning, really need alot of creativity. Get something special or unique. :[
